retrieve specific specimens
I’m attempting to retrieve specific specimens from a slide (Tardigrades, Daphnia, etc.). I tried a pipet but could not do it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I’m looking for the English version of the German book “das leben im wassertropfin” (life in a drop of water) by Heinz Streble.
Does anyone have any information on this?

“negative” stain
I recall reading of a “negative” stain that is good for viewing specimens in dark field. Does anyone know what this is?
Thanks

Tartigrade molting?
This Tardigrade is from a week old sample. It's immobile and partly transparent. No movement Inside or out. Could it be a Tardigrade that has is shed it's skin or is in the process? 10X objective.
Thanks for info.

Tun?
I took a sample from moss and found active Tardigrades. 3 days later I found only Tardigrade shells (molt). Could be that they are in the “tun” state and, if so, active Tardigrades might reappear. Any thoughts.

Air Bubbles???
This is a photo of a Ciliate. When I stained it with Methylene Blue, bubbles (air?) attached to it. The ciliate continue to move around and the bubbles grow and shrink. What’s going on?https://www.flickr.com/photos/195067605 ... ed-public/

emersion oil
I just looked at an oil emersion video. It suggested placing the oil on the condenser lens in addition to the cover slip. I’ve never heard of that. Any opinion?

Re: artificial light
My microscope has a light not a mirror. My question is not about a microscope light. I’m interested in a light as a substitute for sunlight, not available in my work room, for my specimens.
