You do not need the super expensive adapter.
Focus first regularly on the oculars, then find the focus distance with the camera on the trinocular. Take measurements and find a 3D printer service and print a tube. It will cost 20$ or so.

Re: Can the same videography quality be achieved from a binocular head compared to a trinocular head?
If you get a trinocular scope, make sure it is ''infinite'' system. This way you will receive maximum results if you are projecting through a mirror-less sensor without a lens mounted on the camera or any other intermediate optics in-between. If you get a binocular ''160'' microscope and decide to u...

Re: First video with BH-2 - a worm
Damn that is a nice image with an antique objective.
I don't think you can get better video than this with standard 160 to be honest. Maybe with a better camera like a Fuji Xt-3, but it won't be a huge change.

The worm image was taken with the eyepiece on the sensor. But I've discovered now that camera+lens+eyepiece = amazing quality. My Nocticron lens saved me. I won't bother trying other combinations. The lens is f1.2 42.5 mm so it does wonders via eyepiece apparently. You re-discovered afocal photogra...

Re: DJI-action-2 camera
It looks better visually? Did you adjust the condenser height and iris right? Which objective is this? Did you use the flip out lens? Visually it looks perfect. Everything fine. I've used all the possible combinations will all objectives and tried all distances with the condenser. The low magnifica...

Re: DJI-action-2 camera
I think you are right about the distance between the sensor and the eyepiece. I am prevented from getting the eyepiece really close due to the limitations of the adapter. I think I will have to 3D print something to hold eyepiece closer. Your pics are really nice btw. Good job. Not sure it needs to...

Re: DJI-action-2 camera
I doubt that the camera sensor size (M4/3 vs APSC) should matter to image quality, as long as the relay lens (ocular) magnification is chosen to provide good coverage of the FOV. Magnificent images, taken with an Olympus M4/3 mirrorless camera on a Zeiss Standard, have been posted by forum member 7...

A Toupcam type usb 3 eyepiece camera http://www.touptek.com/product/showproduct.php?lang=en&id=78 is lensless and goes in place of an ocular. Re: DJI-action-2 camera
Not a photography expert, but. IMHO this camera is not ideal, for at least 2 reasons: 1. The closest focus distance is 0.3m. So, for mounting on a microscope, you will need a relay lens of some sort. Unless someone has already done, documented and published the optical and mechanical coupling it wi...

Does anyone own by any chance this camera Dji action 2? I have to choose between this one and an iphone to mount on my microscope ocular. Re: A question about photography and cameras
Hello to all, and thank you for taking the time to read my post. I'm fairly new to microscopy. I have a Swift Stellar 1 Pro-T microscope, and with it I bought a camera from Amazon (Hayear 2K 34MP...) that I hook up to a monitor. I notice that the image on the monitor is zoomed in a bit than what I ...

I'm interested in buying a 40x Plan objective that would fit my Zeiss Standard. Preferably from Europe since US has a lot of shipping costs.

I have to sell this awesome piece of equipment because I cannot make it adequate for video recordings. It is okish for photos, but not for videos. At least not with my current setup. I've tried a lot of combinations, there are still a few more to try but I'm not investing in it anymore. It has to go...

Screenshot 2022-08-02 120348.jpg Step 1: Check the box. Step 2: Adjust sliders until satisfied. As far as I'm concernered, the single biggest achievement in photography isn't so much the invention of the CCD but the software used to process that data. I'm constantly blown away by what these softwar...

Re: LED adapter for Carl Zeiss GF Stand
Nice, I managed to use around 10W without overheating inside the base, don't remember exactly. I feel I could squeeze a bit more. I learned a few days ago that the thermal adhesive bonds very tight after a few months of use. I spent almost half an hour removing the led from the heatsink, with a Dre...

Re: LED adapter for Carl Zeiss GF Stand
Cool! As you bring this development to the final, be sure to share 8-) Thanks. Yes I will. My biggest fear is that the ocular hybrid setup that I will try to mount with my mirrorless camera, wont change much the chromatic ab. This will force me to use a phone through the ocular, and not a professio...

Right so, I will leave this here just in case someone will need this info. After a lot of trial and error, and a lack of proper electronic skills that would had probably ended this setup cheaper for me, I've managed to bring LED light into my very old zeiss. I've used the following: The metal plug f...

Other members have made good points. What was that particular sample in the opening post, by the way? If it was the only slide that produces lots of CA (as you said in the first post) and your regular samples are different and don’t produce as much CA, then why worry about that. Naturally high cont...

Re: Blue ''aura'' on video
I think I should try a 2700K led with a blue filter, rather than the 4000K I bought to use without a filter... The blue filter will intensify the (already significant) blue component of the warm-white LED. If the purpose is to suppress the blue, an amber filter would be better. Currently I use 70CR...

Be careful where you buy this microscope. At the moment there are a lot of Chinese re-sellers that are shipping from Germany warehouse.. I've got mine in a terrible state a few months ago, new from Ebay. The objective turret was bent, the filter holder was bent due to packaging, and the focus mechan...

Cheers.

looking for an Zeiss KPL 10X eyepiece
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has to sell me a Zeiss KPL 10x eyepiece. I need it to create a hybrid ocular so I can tackle some chromatic aberation issues.
I've seen one on USA Ebay but it won't ship to Europe and if it does, it will cost around 50$ plus 40 the ocular.
Cheers
