Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
You can also save money if you need live video. […] Again ... very true MichaelG. I also want to thank you Michael for all your advice and suggestions. You've probably read that I purchased a Canon 70D. On my Mac desktop, it is live streaming in Zoom as a web cam and in the Canon Utilities. It was ...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
Welcome! Both programs seem to run fine since I updated to Monterey. Yes, let us know how it goes! A special thanks to Sliding Focus for all the help trying to sort out the setup for the Canon. The latest utility software recommended for Mac (EU 3.14.30) does not seem to work in Monterey. HOWEVER d...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
I think that the DSLR is going to spoil you. I feel it works really well—the software's not perfect, but since I got it installed, I haven't found myself struggling with it. And, as a bonus, you have an incredibly capable camera that also works for things other than microscopy! Again, the software ...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
I said I was done trying to sort this. I was wrong. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help offered in your replies. It seems I couldn't settle on the boot disk/Windows/Toup/Microscope camera. Trying a DSLR to compare was the only thing that would resolve this and satisfy me. On Su...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
The Mac version ToupLite just has a date 10/21/21. Thanks for checking That’s interesting [ although I have no idea whether it’s significant ] … |File|GetInfo| indicates that the version I downloaded, was created/modified on Friday 22 October 2021 at 04:15 I wonder if that’s just a Time-Zone thing,...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
A few updates on solutions. First I installed Parallel so I could take a look at the PC version of Toup. The difference is astonishing. The problem with Parallel is it emulates. The fps were around 4. This morning I uninstalled Parallel and partitioned using Boot Camp. The fps increased to a whoppin...

"hard" solutions: Windows on BootCamp, then Toupview or SharpCap? Will it send the video stream to ios?? Or, mount the Iphone over the eyepiece then share the video/screen to the Mac? Thank you. That's definitely a possibility but I don't want to use ToupLite. […] . Just to be clear … ToupView is m...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
Hi dirtNerd, I just tried out how the Lumix App works in combination with my microscope, PC and camera (Panasonic G9) The setup is shown in the picture below. I use Windows, but there is also a Mac-version available from Panasonic. LiveView works very well without lagging. While recording, liveview...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
Is it appropriate for long sessions of live streaming? My budget is small. If it's recommended, what is the best inexpensive ($300+-) camera body that will work. I realize I need an adapter if I go this route. DSLRs aren't USB 3 to the best of my knowledge. According to the specs of your microscope...

Re: Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
Your easiest solution might be the realization that all of the cameras you have are designed primarily for use with a windows 10 PC. You will need to check the frame rate on the cameras you have. Most of the cameras you have listed will probably flicker when live streaming video. You need to be abo...

Camera for live streaming on desktop Mac
I've been banging my head against the wall for a couple of months. I've tried 5MP, 10MP, 14MP, and today 18MP USB cameras. The last 3 are USB 3. My Mac is a 27" running Monterey. The scope is a student Amscope T490B-LED. I need to live stream as I have some issues with my eyes. The Toup software is ...

Thank you so much for checking on this. I think it's down to "love the one you're with". Hopefully the software will gradually be updated to something resembling the PC version.

MU1403 USB 3 on Mac not seen by 'other' software
Does anyone use this camera with something other than ToupLite (AmLite) on a Mac? I have a new MU1403B USB 3 camera. I'm using a Mac running Monterey 12.1 (although I also tested on old computer with 10 something). The software, ToupLite for Mac, is substandard. I was hoping to use the camera with C...

Re: AmScope 18mp MU1803 calibration I need help bad.
I'm new and had all the same questions. Here are several things that helped me. First, the thing about magnification. I asked Oliver about this and this is what he said: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceSnCsxbBf0 For focusing this really helped. Focus what you see on screen with the camera first! T...

Psyllium husk to slow movement
I saw the YouTube video on using psyllium husk gel to slow fast moving micro organism. I tried it and made a mess. How is the husk mixed and then how is it used? Specifics will be greatly appreciated!
