Very nice work, are they single shot photos or focus stacks? I am finding offset oblique difficult to focus stack in my hands, thought single frame works great. Circular oblique light is easier for stacking, but contrast is not as enhanced as offset oblique. Of course are focus stack... I use helic...

It is an haloghen bulb but, if i understand right, the light it is not trimmered, it is at the maximum because the camera has an automatic compensation that increase automaticly the light.
So it is no possible to use a soft light...

If you vary the deflection, the tridimensional effect it become...

Yes, in Italian we use to call this technic "Luce radente" and condenser is like this: s-l500.jpg s-l500 (2).jpg s-l500 (1).jpg As I sad it is a very poor system but I found that it is possible to have interesting result, I try the same with Protist and it is great! Another picture take with planapo...

Many thanks, my set up it is very easy, I use an old Zeiss laboval 4 with a condenser for oblique light and planapo zeiss.
I consider oblique light a poor DIC but whith a nice tridimensional effect.
