Thanks so much! What was keeping the bacteria away? Or was that what was happening?

We watched this one for some time. It seemed to have a protective layer/membrane/? that kept the bacteria on the outer edges. The bacteria concentrated on the edges for a bit, then gradually left. The microbe had some sort of pseudopodia radiating out of the spherical center.

This creature is from a birdbath sample. Has an undulating membrane and moves very fast when it wants to.

Magnification is 400x
