Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
Is there anywhere that looks like a location that might have housed a ground glass filter? Maybe got damaged or thought to be precious, like the missing sliders. Not that I can see. The condenser assembly was intact and in pretty nice shape when I received it. I believe that once I get the specimen...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
The rings are just painted grooves around the post that holds the condenser. When the objective with the yellow marker ring is used, I merely slide the condenser assembly to the position of the yellow ring on the post; same for the objective with the green marker ring. I move the condenser assembly ...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
How far is the iris from the condenser front lens ( the one on top) and and are there any lenses between the iris and filament? The setup is as follows: Bulb Centering Mechanism Lens Filter slot IRIS Slider slot (0.7" x 2-7/16") Lens (lens closest to specimen) Distance from the iris to the lens clo...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
Well, I tried Kohler and was totaly unsuccessful. Let me explain. On the illumination post there are two colored rings, one yellow and one green. These, I assume, correspond to the colored rings on the objectives, so when the objective with the corresponding colored ring is used, I set the illuminat...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
See if you can adjust it for Köhler and see what happens. At least you know how to get a filament image so you can center it. It's not possibly the partially closed condenser iris in focus, is it? There isn't a condenser iris as in a standard microscope, but if you look at the last picture in my fi...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
Is the vignetted field perfectly uniform ? does it have a fuzzy or sharply defined border? The condenser should be focusable for Köhler, which should defocus the filament image. The sliders are just to obtain phase, otherwise you should be able to to fo BF o.k. I came across a parts head and eyepie...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
A couple of questions. The binocular head had a bad mirror, which I replaced. When looking through either eyepiece either singularly or together, there is a a bright center section and a darker perimeter. Will the "sliders" somehow take care of this. The bright center section is about 2/3 the field ...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
Working at it slowly. It is cleaning up pretty well. The objctives are as follows: PH 1 SP4/0.1 160/-; PH SP10/0.25 160/-; PH SPL25/0.40 160/1.00 (Can someone explain the difference between PH1/PH and SP/SPL? Also, 160/- (the meaning of the -) I assume the 160/1.00 is for 1mm glass thickness (?). I ...

Re: AO illuminator 1036A/1031 Diaphragm Centering Spring
Is this anything that you recognize coming out of series 10 microscope. This fell out of the unit I was having trouble with the fine focus and everything seems to be opreating perfectly now. I checked through the exploded view drawing the best I could and can't spot anything similar. Is it possible ...

The tracking box sounds reasonable enough. Do you have a paypal account, or how would you like to get paid? Also, I am having trouble with the fine focus on one of the 10's; is there a particular set of instructions for taking the mechanism apart that you can direct me to? I have the exploded view o...

Re: AO illuminator 1036A/1031 Diaphragm Centering Spring
probably do. just have to find one that sits in a surplus illuminator. i can send it in an envelope but U.S. customs might be getting a bit snakey about concealed things in envelopes. the last item i sent south in an envelope, an AO slide carrier never arrived even though I had a customs declaratio...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
I received the unit, but unfortunately whoever packaged it had more faith in Fedex than I do. It was well wrapped in bubble wrap but unrestrained in the box and was left to bounce around. The binocular head was torn from its place, along with some other parts. I was able to repair the head and repos...

AO illuminator 1036A/1031 Diaphragm Centering Spring
Looking for an AO illuminator 1036A/1031 Diaphragm Centering Spring. The 1036A unit that I have has one broken leg. See picture. If you have a parts unit, all I need is the spring. Let me know how much. Thanks in advance.

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
Thanks for the inputs. Sorry for my delayed response, but Ive been"down-for-the-count" for the past couple of days, fighting off some weird disease; no such thing as a common cold anymore. I should have the 'scope in-hand today, but I'm not sure I wil feel up to diving into yet. No rush in any case;...

Re: Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
Gerry, I almost bought that one for DIY modifications  if all parts work, then it is a good value (especially for its removable trinocular head, mechanical stage and DIY friendly condenser mount). Does Anybody Recognize this Inverted 'Scope?
I came across this inverted microscope. It's made in China and only has the markings shown in the pictures. I would like to find a manual for it or something close to it in construction. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: AO 160
The 184 15X eyepiece would be the better option, but the 147 will work if you can' find a 184. See near the end of the following thread for more clarification:

"The Cat.147 are for the 160mm FL systems and many of the stereo scopes; same for the Cat.146. For the 34mm infinity stuff, 176, 184, and 180 are the most commonly sought. Re: AO 160
You might find it easier to find a 15X eyepiece to get 645X, 150X, and 75X from your 'scope. I believe the 147 and 184 eyepieces are 15X

Re: Reflections of my eyes at higher magnification
I can't explain why it happens, but one time I sent a microscope in for cleaning because of this odd-shaped artifact in the field of view only to find out it was an image of a small corneal scar I had in my right eye. Now I also see "floaters." I also would like to know the why's and wherefores of t...

Re: Dangerous-Just Thinking Again!
@blekenblue When I first read your post I didn't understand your implications. If I was taking photos, I understand that stitching the primary color photos together would produce a higher resolution image than an image from "mixed" light. But I was more interested in what affects "mixed" light had o...

Here is my version of the lighting source. Four leds, red, green, blue and yellow placed 90 degrees apart at an angle such that each led points to the same spot approximately four inches ahead of the holder, using four acrylic rods to better aim the leds. Just a few pictures to show a couple of "mix...

Re: Looking for camera for Swift SW380B
@Topcode - good point about the Toupview. I haven't anything to lose (except the time I spend trying to make it work!) and if the software which comes with my camera is substandard, I'll give it a try. Much thanks! Toupview and "Amscope" software are one and the same. The Amscope cameras come with ...
