Diatom?

This is from a pond sample. There were a lot of diatoms in it. I think this is one too? But, I cannot identify what type?

will it focus with your eyepieces if you pull it up a bit..you can use orings as spacers if it doesn't take much
Yes, it will focus quite well if is is raised up. Could you show me an example of the type of oring you are referring to? Thanks.

Water Sample Disposal

Or, should I discard it outside. I am not talking about samples heavy with bacteria -- just typical pon...

Please, can you tell me what this is?

I have more trouble trying to identify things like this:

... than the creatures I see moving around. I try Google Images on this kind of stuff but to little avail -- I end up thinking it is a diatom, algae or cyanobacteria. As you can tell, I am new at this.

Re: Large number of spam messages

I guess translating the spam and posting in the anti spam section is not only spam but meta spam. Certainly ironic spam.

Re: What is this?

I looked up some videos and compared with my other photos. You are correct that is what it is. Thanks. I am really impressed you could id it from such a photo. You are good.
The subspecies is probably Catenula confusa

What is this?

I found several of these were in a pond sample. Long, slithery. They also clumped together.
