Re: как устроен механический тубус ortholux2 как можно перевести на бесконечную оптику,

I don't think it is possible to change a finite optics microscope to infinity-corrected. You would be better off getting higher-grade finite optics for your Ortholux 2. Main advantage of infinity systems is ability to insert additional attachments into infinity space. Being a beginner, it is not som...

This is sad - I found Raf through Ebay, and we designed an adapter for Olympus stereo microscope objectives to attach to Leica MS/MZ series microscopes - I use one of these adapters now.
Without Ebay, I would not find Raf...

I did not try phase contrast on CX, but there is a Phase-contrast condenser CX-PCD, or Simple phase contrast attachments CX-PH1, 2, 3 for the standard Abbe condenser. All of them are hard to find on the used market.

It's a great microscope, it is fully compatible with Olympus UIS/UIS2 optics, so you can mount any infinity-corrected Olympus objective and any head from BX series, and enjoy the best image quality and ergonomics.

I was looking at this earlier too. The dic doesn't look amazing, not very even at all. I bet the spacer is 3d printed as well. When I look closer at the photos provided, the spacer does not show that rough layered surface like other 3d-printed parts. Also, you can 3d-print the raiser's body, but no...

Olympus condensers BH vs BX

Are condensers for Olympus BH (finite 160mm system) and BX (infinity corrected) the same? They look the same, and mounting dovetail is the same 47mm, so BH condenser fits into BX holder. But are they optically identical - would a BH Achromat Aplanat 1.4 condenser perform the same as new BX U-AAC whe...

I just had a few minutes to try the Meiji condenser on Olympus BX40 microscope - it will NOT focus on the field diaphragm opening!

Re: Meiji Techno MT5200H Microscope Review

There are a lot of Nikon labophot 2 with an obsolete dead PSU. That unit looks like it could be used but I suspect from the asking price of a bulb it wouldn't be cost effective. It's not the same PCB but the ¼ watt resistor size is recent so the components are unlikely to be obsolete. This is a sim...

What do you mean by "available"?
It's a current model, so parts should be available from Meiji Techno.

Meiji Techno MT5200H Microscope Review Pt. 2

Meiji Abbe 1.25 condenser provides better contrast than Olympus equivalent – when you close the light source’s field diaphragm and focus the condenser, the outer gray area is noticeably darker in Meiji than in Olympus. Meiji condenser’s dovetail diameter is 45mm vs. Olympus 47mm, so I can mount and ...

I have this microscope for a couple of years. Part of the problem with Kohler is it's not competitive to produce.
I was wondering about getting a 3D printer.
Prusa just announced the new MK4 printer - expect plenty of Prusa i3 Mk1 - Mk3's on the used market.

I'm not sure that I am following you directly but Köhler illumination is simply a method of defocusing the illumination source at the field diaphragm plane. It has nothing to do with centering anything or providing limiting apertures anywhere in the system. Those are entirely separate controls one ...

A better-corrected condenser should help the color fringing you're seeing. As Phil suggests, the Olympus .90 swing-away condenser would be a good choice.
