It is certainly a Peritrich Ciliate in its loriga, perhaps Cothurnia annulata.
Thank you so much!!! :D

It's not a rotifer. It's a vaginicolid ciliate (Vaginicola, Cothurnia, etc.). :) We don't see the base of the base of the lorica, so I'm hesitant to propose a genus-level identification.
Ah Okok, thanks a lot Bruce for the helping!!! :D :D

Re: DARKFIELD WITH OLYMPUS CH2

Ange20, not all condensers/ setups can do darkfield with a patchstop with a 40x objective... so dont panic (achieving this is often more of a 'sport' than a routine method) I think is the alignment of the objective?? How can I Check it?? as above ...i.e. find a bit of something on a slide ..centre ...

Ange, Detailed pictures of your configuration will help us helping you, common reasons why DF does not work A: The condenser has to be “up” and nearly touching your slide to make it work with the 40*. Several of the entry versions of the CH2 have a simple condenser mechanism to move the condenser u...

Re: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OBJECTIVE

It's the 23mm type as fitted to Labophot era CF. My best guess is some optimising was done. Light path alignment is dictated by the condenser to iris, field lens doesn't have much adjustment either. Filament is only adjustable for length but has a little wiggle room in the socket. Getting everythin...

CAN I PUT DIFFERENT OBJECTIVE ON A SCOPE?

I was wondering if it was possible to mount objectives of different brands and different types on a microscope.
EX. Leica with 10x Nikon plan infinity objective and 20X Zeiss infinity non-plan objective.

Re: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OBJECTIVE

Ange -- you'll want to sort out the objectives when your Microstar IV arrives. Judging by your photos, you have Zeiss and Nikon finite objectives mixed in - and they're not compatible. The Microstar IV (also badged "Reichert" and "Cambridge" and of "American Optical" heritage) is a decent scope. Pr...
