I speak dutch. The stamp refers to: Biologisch centrum Centrale Facultaire Bibliotheek. It's no biggy to understand that book belongs/belonged to the library of the university. This is a book written in French right? Despite it's value, maybe there is a Dutch or English version available, and this o...

Re: Oil Immersion
Great question! And when you use oil on the condenser? Is this only in combination with a oil objective, or is that independent? Edit: Found on Wikipedia: Condensers and numerical aperture Like objective lenses, condensers vary in their numerical aperture (NA). It is NA that determines optical resol...

Re: Cleaning a camera lens (internal fungus)
But what i wanted to point out is that you need a wider lens, if you already having vignetting with the 50mm.
Like i said, maybe search for a 35 of 38mm.
Do you understand why? I'm not sure if i'm being clear about it.

Always handy you know how an objective is build on the inside, Here's the lens arrangement of the 70-150 http://allphotolenses.com/public/files/optical/031f5894fd8016fc7caa7cb52af9eded.gif But look out with zoom objectives on the microscope, they usually are not nearly as sharp as a prime. Re: Cleaning a camera lens (internal fungus)
I did it with an old lens. Don't know if you had any technical education, but if you feel confident you should just do it. It's no rocket science, and old manual lenses are pretty logical in their build up. I completely took it apart, even the shutter blades. I made some markings on the lens, and wr...

Got something else strange. I auctioned an old objective, but i lost the auction. While i was browsing for another one, i suddenly got a notification that the object was available again and i could be the winner if I wanted. That happened within 5 minutes. Huh? But already found another one at that ...

Yes, they are together as shown in the picture, no composition.
But indeed, slightly on another level, not much.
I could continue stacking to get them both in focus.

Re: NaCl DIC
Thanks for your answer, which Stacking software? Well, I used Picolay for this one, and i must say I'm happy with the result. But need to learn the software a bit more. To bad it only loads jpg and no RAW files, Helicon can load RAW files. So for normal forum prints, it's ok and it does a good job....

Re: My scopes: Olympus CHA, SZH10, BHB and Vanox AHBT3
What is the transformer used for the BH-LSH on your BH DIC setup? Can you post a pic/model number etc? Well, it's actually a Vanox (Old model) AH-LSH Halogen kit. How did you get the BHB with DIC? Straight eBay purchase, or local surplus sale? Those are not commonly available, though not super rare either. Re: My scopes: Olympus CHA, SZH10, BHB and Vanox AHBT3
Oh thank you very much. Although it's merely a coincidence that i have this collection. I'm an Olympus fan since i was young, owning several old camera's like OM-1, OM-10, OM-4. And i was always very fond of their optics. Then into the digital era with the first series like the E500, later the E-30 ...

Yes images are stock, hehe. I'll make some pictures today. DIC on the Vanox is like a gentle summer breeze on a hot summer day. Marvelous. But i only have it a few days, and i noticed that the stage has a little movement. It wiggles a bit, but i need to remove it anyway to clean the condensers in th...
