Unidentified thread-adapter
A hopefully trivial question, to which someone might give me an instant answer: I am in the process of cataloguing my modest collection of adapters, and came across this one . IMG_9342.jpeg . The nicely baffled interior may be a clue, and the number 520544 has a Zeiss look to it Female thread is M42...

If, as I suspect, the adapter thread is 28mm … this would suggest that someone has been experimenting with using that objective afocally. 28mm is, of course, the convenient thread-size that Leitz used for the eye-cup attachment on some Periplans … which is a direct fit to some popular compact camera...

Re: What accessory do I need to par focal microscope camera in trinocular tube of stereo microscope ?
Thanks for all the informative responses to this topic. After quite a bit of browsing, and a few phone calls to various microscope vendors, this is what I discovered: - The focusing adapter is "SZM CTV 1/2" and will work with a camera sensor of 1/2.5, and also with 1/2.3 (but 1/2.5 is recommended)....

. Good-hearted jesting and cynicism aside … I suggest that 1.3 in the Zeiss instructions needs to be noted: The lamps may be removed from the package only if the protection mask (Cat. No. 417009) and the safety gloves with artery protection (Cat. No. 417008) are worn. … Personally, though : I couldn...
