Re: Centering & adjusting the Leitz 100Z lamp?
Is your Orthoplan a standard instrument, or a ‘bitza’ ? [ bitza this, and bitza that ] It looks to me like you need to first make some reasonably simple measurements of what your illumination system is actually doing … and then compare with those listed values. Note particularly the reference to IV ...

You should be able to make a replacement disc from a sheet of tracing paper or similar
… it’s just a target; the screws do the adjustment.

Just one thought … my reading of the Amazon listing is that it turns at 1-2 revolutions per minute !
If I am correct, that is very slow for the purposes you have in mind.

I think there was a special Plan Apo series made for the Olympus IMT-2 and these had a longer working distance. However, you are right that this is crucial and needs to be verified. … Having just started my journey in the opposite direction [ bought an IMT-2 yesterday ], I will post links, later to...

Just to note that I attempted to report that post when I first saw it … but although the reporting icon opened a form … I don’t think it submitted my report.
I then [wrongly] assumed that the matter was already in-hand.

[…] Thanks Michael—Unfortunately, this is the jumbled manual I was referring to in my post. It has some useful information, but it's all over the place in terms of sections referring to various configurations. Apochronaut’s comments are wise , and well-expressed. To the best of my knowledge, software fixes can only work by discarding information and/or making guesses. The one relatively safe approach is when pure lateral CA is known to be present, and the channels can then be individually re-sized to over...

It doesn’t answer the question explicitly, but your will find 17 occurrences of the term here:

and collectively they explain.
I am posting that link because it’s very rare to get a freebie from a Standards Organisation !
