An alternative to Kohler?
My microscope is a no name without a field diaphragm or collector lens so Kohler is impossible? Would anyone inquire other methods of reducing uneven illumination when taking pictures? I was thinking of using a ground glass diffuser but I'm not sure about other approaches.

The fine focus mechanism won't connect to the main focus of the LOMO.
I'll take pictures once I get back home but the main issue is that a dovetail piece that connects the main focus rack and pinion to the fine focus mechanism keeps detaching in my LOMO. I think that I assembled it beforehand properly but I don't I know if there are screws that keep them from separati...

Re: Fitting a Lomo 1.4 Aplanatic condenser to my microscope.
zzffnn, my preposition is to make a threaded ring that raises the top lens to a much more reachable height. It'll fit between where you would normally put the top lens and acts as a height increaser.

How would a condenser adapter work?
Does increasing the cylinder length that holds the lens influence its N.A

Re: Fitting a Lomo 1.4 Aplanatic condenser to my microscope.
While I can't post pictures yet, the aplanatic condenser's threading that connects the lens unit to the body has an outer indentation that is bigger than my Microscope's mounting ring. This causes the condenser to be underutilized with a gap bigger than 1cm from slide to top lens. I think that eithe...

So I got my aplanatic condenser but.....
I've recently gotten a used Lomo 1.4NA aplanatic condenser. It was significantly better than the Abbe I previously had but the problem is that the threading for the lens elements has a casing bigger than the condenser mount. While the condenser does fit in the mount to an extent, the threading's pro...
