Is there a distinction for isopropyl alcohol and ethanol as a fixative?

A while back I asked whether isopropyl alcohol can be used a fixative. The kind and humbled mrsonchus confirmed this. I also referred to Stainfiles but most sources said the isopropyl alcohol is used as a dehydrant. Sources also said that isopropyl is a poor fat solvent. Regardless though, for the g...

Re: A few pictures from this evening's Safranin trials

Yvan for the tissue preparation, you said that isopropyl alcohol should be used instead of ethyl alcohol for tissue processing. Does this apply to both the fixating and dehydrating processes? If so, is there a distinction between fixating with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol.

Economic Slides on Ted Pella

I have a question regarding the prices for the economic slides. Do I theoretically pay 9.80 for let's say 10 packages of the blank slides or do I pay 9.80 for every pack?

For plant sections, is clearing really necessary? Sections of plant can be scarce of cell contents but I want to know if the clearing process is required for high quality preparation.

Re: DIN Objective Adapter

Actually the reason why I needed the extender is because I have to raise my stage so high up that it touches the spring loaded high mags objectives. This lowers the objectives so that the others would be fine.

DIN Objective Adapter

So I manage acquired a 8x objective with a Lomo or Zeiss style with the numbers "631872". Initially I couldn't make use of the objective until I raised the stage to the highest level. My question is, is there an adapter that can "lengthen" the objective so that working distances aren't extremely long.
