Time-lapse of un known cell?
I see these in my fresh water samples sometimes. It looks like a cell or maybe a cyst of some water organism? It's a time lapse and the "cell" actually grows slowly and there seems to be chrloplast slowly moving inside as well. Would love to know what these are. https://youtube.com/shorts/kkCk-NG66K...

Re: Unknown conjugating microbe
The reason I was thinking conjugation was because there seem to be a couple more attracted to one of the pairs scent but aren't attracted to each others. I was thinking flagelates too! Thanks for the help! I have a better scope coming tmrw.

I'm not sure if these are cilliates or dinoflagellates. They seem to conjugate( i have videos of this event) Looked through one of my guides but couldn't find anything close. They are from a fresh water source and are quite small compared to say paramecia. https://youtube.com/shorts/dFWKO-lnrtw?feat...

Can anyone explain or better yet link anything explaining how one would go about extracting a single cilliate from a slide?

It looks like the cell was losing its contents. But then I looked it up and it's spot on. Interesting! Thanks for sharing.

Swift sw380t vs zeiss
Hey guys I just purchased a swift SW380T from amazon for roughly $389(its on the way). I have been simultaneously speaking to a microscope specialty store near me that has a zeiss research microscope that he will sell me for $650. I'm still waiting to find out what model exactly but the gentleman to...

Nutritional yeast
Hello! First time poster, very happy to join this community. I was wonder if anyone has ever used nutritional yeast(not bakers) to enrich a cilliate grow chamber. From what I understand using a food source gives bacteria food, and then the eukaryotes eat the bacteria. We use it alot in our food(we a...
