Rabitt, I used a stereo microscope, the hydra and larva was in a petri dish.

The video is done - very happy with how it came out

Euglenid (possibly Phacus torta) showing a big central paramylon (starch like) grain.

Interesting looking live diatom - unfortunately could not stack since it was moving around too much.

Nope, directly into the molten/heated glycerin jelly. In fact, it was a total accident - I was busy shaking out pollen - only discovered the critter when I had the slide under the microscope
