Re: Dusty Diastar

] That is a heat proof lens, subject to considerable expansion and therefore mounted loosely. Hence the spring retainer and easy rotation. A secure mount would likely crack the lens pretty quickly. Ahhhh, makes sense, thank you Phil. Have you noticed that the stages and condenser carriers varied th...

Looking to see if anyone has taken out the convex lens in the lamp housing. Theres a large spring that sits behind it (not sure why). Im interested in putting together a (Lyot*?) filter, that is with 1/4 , 1/2 and full plate. They'll have to rotate of course, I just dont know how to go about tackling this project, and was wondering of anyone else had utilized one or owns one.
Many thanks
Adrian.

Have lab microscopes become that much lighter in weight since the 80s? I think the tables have always tended toward the massive, not just to bear the weight but also to dampen vibration. Speaking from almost no experience whatsoever... I have notice the integration of what looks to be composites an...

I can't help but noticed how similar the Leica AtC 2000 looks like the Reichert Microstar IV, specially the head and overall fixed stage design. Similarly the Polyvar and Polylite 88. In the case of the ATC how many years was it introduced,? After or before merger?

How well does it work e.g. How is the intensity?
Some more pics.. I would consider the 100W HID ballast if possible , as long as heat was of no concern, the 55w runs cool enough where I can place my hand on the lamp housing without any issues.
