Better pictures with a different camera.
The other day I posted a couple of pictures of a mite using a 5.0 mp camera. And it's kind of dark. :| http://i61.tinypic.com/2nizeau.jpg Well, today I played around with my 1.3 mp camera, and I got these pictures. :) Much better! 40X http://i60.tinypic.com/8xmyhh.jpg Mite brains. :D 40X h...

Thanks John, I'm surprised they're still in good shape, but they are. The slide with the Spanish Moss has a broken cover glass, but not over the specimen, so that's still ok.

Some of my very first slides
These are some of the very first slides I made. These are from 1989 and 1990. All using balsam medium, and still in great condition. Re: More Pictures
Hi Steve and congratulations - your images are very interesting and I particularly like the Goldenrod ones. Their structure is fundamentally similar to the Sonchus that I'm studying at this time. The more you explore Steve, the better your technique will become and you'll begin to realize preferenc...

Congratulations on your first images Microworld Steve. I think you will find that if you upload your images at a size that fits most peoples screens, they will be easier for us to view. 1024 x 768 pixels @ 72 pixels/inch is a useful size and resolution. Thanks 75RR. I'm pretty sure that I can set t...

I'm glad you are having success with your setup. Thanks gecko. :) Now that I'm retired and own my own home, I can devote more time with this, as well as some of my other hobbies, such as ham radio, guns and reloading, coin collecting, and a few other things. As I do more, the better I'll get. :D St...

Re: More Pictures
And some Canadian Goldenrod that came from my front yard. With this, I first had to dissect the small flower under my stereo scope in order to get a good mount. And with a couple drops of balsam, the cover slip went on and did a really good job of spreading the balsam with very few air bubbles. 40X ...

Now that I have the camera installed, and it does work, here are some pictures of the slides that I have made. Some of you probably know by now that I have a bird, a sun conure, and he has feathers, lots of feathers. Some are much to big for a slide, unless I cut it in pieces. Some are small enough ...

My First Picture!
Well, I finally installed my camera in my laptop, and here's the first picture I took with it. This is a factory prepared slide. It's a bee wing at 40x with a 5 mp camera. It's not the best picture, but it's my first, with more to come.

No, I don't think we need to get the moderator after us, at least not for talking in codes. If needed, we can always QSY to another one for our QSO's.
No, I haven't used the 2500X yet, but I will get to it.
Are you on QRZ.com?

Re: My newest scope!
Microworld Steve, I have the same Amscope with a 3MP USB camera that I almost never use. Definitely stick with the 5MP. If you are like me you will find the 25x oculars useless. Not even heavy enough for a paper weight. I added a 20x and 60x obj. and upgraded the 4, 10, and 40 to plan obj's. I thin...

Re: My Three Scopes
I do know about adjusting the eyetubes and making sure the numbers match. As far as I can tell, the AmScope automatically adjusts tube length for the interpupillary distance, but the left tube does have a fine focus adjustment so you can get the focus the same on both eyepieces.

Nice to get new toys! Just wondering, how does it compare to your Omax? Are there different features on the Amscope? I like getting new toys. :D My OMAX is a really fine instrument, :) They both have the same 4 objectives, and are both great to use. :) The OMAX has the 10X and 20X oculars, where as...
