S-Eye software!
Hi guys Been trying out some software I stumbled across for my little 5mb Amscope usb camera and this one from S-Eye seems to work perfectly and has a nice interface and its free. Not sure if anyone has tried it?. I think I still prefer the Amscope software but S-Eye might be an option for anyone ha...

Alcohol/surgical spirit?
Hi guys Been watching a few of Oliver’s YouTube’s and he mentions using pure alcohol to prepare samples but here in the UK a search for alcohol (apart from the stuff you drink) just throws up isopropyl alcohol or surgical spirit. Is it ok to use surgical spirit in place of alcohol when trying out th...

Hi folks I’m too am interested in obtaining darkfield illumination from my Laborlux S (similar to the 12?) I have the LK condenser with no filter facility and getting a series 56 condenser soon (the same as the one shown by ‘Precisioninstruments’). It would be handy to know the filter size and also ...

My version of John`s halogen-led conversion!
Hi guys Finally got all the bits and bobs I needed to have a go at converting my Leitz scope from Halogen to led illumination (you weren`t joking about the slow boat from China John :o ). It has come about more of necessity than just a trial really as the mini supernova (ie halogen bulb) was warming...

Hi John
Trying to source that disc type led but can`t seem to find the identical one to yours and wondered where you got it from please?. The controllers seem easily available and there are other types of disc led`s which might do the job also!!.
thanks

Hi Charles Its the setup shown on your web site here http://www.krebsmicro.com/microsetup2/index.html I use a Nikon D5500 dslr and I don`t think it has the first shutter curtain you refer to so maybe vibration would still be a problem?. My scope is a trinocular type and has a x10 projection lens in ...

Re: DSLR mounted on 'scope and controlled via Android tablet tether software
Hi Guys Further to my experimenting with dslr tether software I fear I have made a mistake condemning the Windows version of qdslrdashboard. It seems that installing this software and using it with (in my case) a Nikon dslr then qdslrdashboard requires a particular driver for the camera which when c...

Microscopy `tool` kit?
Hi guys After a little wander off tangent stopped my progress hopefully I`m back with it now and wondering about getting a useful `tool` kit for microscopy. Hi guys I`ve just rigged up the same setup as John but using my Nikon D5500 dslr and using qDSLRdashboard on my Amazon fire tablet, it connects wirelessly and works brilliantly.
