Could someone discuss the subject of the Fisher Scientific Micromaster series of scopes?
I would be interested in hearing the history, age and build quality of this line.
From what I have seen, they seem to be a line of stencil scopes from about 10-15 years ago.

Gerry, It looks pretty straightforward and of decent construction. I'm not sure a Chinglish manual will add much to your understanding. The exception to that would be if the objectives are phase contrast and the condenser annulli are missing -- and you hope to find something that matches. If so, yo...

Has anyone one done side by side comparisons of Zeiss/Leitz/Nikon/Olympus objectives versus the Chinese offerings of today (both 160mm and infinity)?

Some hobby stores have glass discs available.
Also some older hardware stores will cut glass discs to order.
There are individuals on Ebay and Esty that cuts glass discs to size.

I was just asked by a friend what microscope I would recommend for Christmas. Concerning the next question that is always raised “What is the budget?”…let us just say they want value for the money spent for a family experience So what microscopes would you recommend for low-middle-high budgets?
