Btw, some non mechanical stages have pre-drilled and tapped holes ready to take a commonly available adjuster, to both hold the slide in position, and move it both laterally, back and forth. From what I remember, they are not expensive.

Cool looking set. They probably are made from PLA since they look like they are 3D printed. 3D printings can have "stringing" which are little threads of plastic as the head switches from one part to the other. Arrived today, a set of 32m Dark Field Patch Stops, and Oblique Illumination Stops, cut from 1.5mm thick plastic (probably Acetal/Delrin)

7, 8, 11, 13, and 20mm Dark Field patch stops, and four different Oblique stops.

They certainly do David, sweeping a side other 'critters' around them.

From the limited amount of testing I've done so far, I can't really see any difference in the stacked result, between Picolay, and Helicon. I should add that I only aligned, and stacked in both, applying none of the enhancement tools, as Photoshop can deal with this. This has so far been limited to ...

It was to 40x Plan Objective, so effectively 400x. As it was alive and swimming about, it wasn't easy to grab as shot, and that was the 'best of the bunch' That was with the camera straight into the photo tube, which was giving very bright area in the centre, and a strange Airey Disc pattern further...

When the adapter arrives, I can take the 4x 160 plan objective off of the microscope, and experiment with the principle.

Am I correct in thinking that Metallurgical objectives have a greater working distance than standard objectives.

If I attach an objective lens to a dslr via T2 to RMS adapter, does it matter if it is infinity corrected, or standard 160mm
