Zeiss lens spray is relatively inexpensive and about the most effective.
I don't have shares in Zeiss.

Diatoms in DF should be enough to hook anyone. As an horologist my collection started with an original model Mantis, used for things like overcoil balance springs, great for PCB work which is it's intended application. Fitted an old binocular type USSR 8.75x to the lathe for pivots mostly. It went wr...

The light is refracted in the silica in the same way as a prism of clear glass.
Polarising helps with clarity, rainbow pictures are much more colourful with a polariser, rotate until the colours are strongest.

Anything but WD40.
I have whittled WD40 down to cutting fluid for tungsten micro drills and the party trick of bursting balloons in seconds without touching them.

Works on thread fungus better than anything else I tried.
Now my first choice go to for coated.
Only tried on Nikon,Watson,Euromex,GTvision,
Canon, Panasonic and Pentax

Good luck with your latest project. The BX should give better results than the Watson when finished. I'm very biased to Watson. I have other more recent scopes also. The Microsystem 70 is enough to hook anyone into the world of microscopy. Microsystem 70 optics in fully restored condition are still ...

What is a " Zernike dry" condenser?
Really?
It's not oil at 0.9na unless you really like oil.
If it has a turret with choices I'm trying to picture something that isn't Zernike.
Either way it's Zeiss not AO.

Says turret condenser na 0.9 which I took as Zernike dry. .75 would make sense as the DF limit. Any gap between the condenser and the slide with reduce the effectiveness. Anyone who focuses for BF Kohler and switches to DF is welcome to do that. It doesn't work, and it's pointless but each to their ...

Re: dark field condenser NA

Is the top lens of the condenser in contact or near as can be with the slide? Is the condenser perfectly centred. My experience differs slightly. 0.9n/a is a dry condenser. Relatively low n/a, it is possible that under perfect conditions that DF is achievable at n/a .75 or less. With an air gap/focu...

The Nikon Labophot 2 filter pack also has a diffuser.
Both are acrylic.
The fly eye gives images a kind of sparkle effect from generating multiple light source points, what is probably described as "pop" in digital terms.

Re: Budget camera for a Nikon AFX-II on a Labophot?

It's possible the one in the bottom is only a filter.
If I remember correctly,
I had to turn the outer tube down to just below the hole for the thumbscrew to get full frame with NDPL2 in the tube.
The outer tube is only held on with the 3 little grub screws.

Panasonic Lumix G3 works well enough, it's only 1080 video. Metal body. Canon 50D has live view, solid metal. Doesn't easily do clean video out. NDPL2 is relatively cheap but I only have experience of type F trinocular. Both cameras are easy to find at bargain basement prices for what they are. Wort...

Interested to find out how things work out on a Labophot 2.
Only tried 30mm tube eyepieces with ∞ objectives.
Stand corrected on the 23mm tube eyepieces, should have reread the OP.
Good luck with the project if you take it on.
