LockMailer jars

#1 Post by dtsh » Wed Feb 24, 2021 7:55 pm

I stumbled across these a little while back while looking at Coplin jars (https://www.simport.com/en/products/133-m950.html) so I decided to try them out.

Some of the aspects I liked about them were the size, much of my staining is one or two slides at a time and it often leads to a fair bit of waste. Most of the Coplin jars I could find were around 55ml, which isn't a lot but these seem to work with as little as 6ml of stain with 4 slides or about 10ml with just one. Aspects which aren't so nice is that with 4 slides in stain it is difficult to get the slides back out even with forceps as it's hard to grab the slide, but 2 at a time seems to work well. It's fine if they're just in there dry though, tip the jar and they slide out easy.

The downside is I could only order them in a 100 pack, so if anyone in the US would like some I can see how many can be jammed into a bubble mailer.
