Yes, mine arrived last week.

It is great, 250 pages, good repro despite matt paper and lots of information on microbes.

Not much technical info sadly, other than a new Axioskop with DIC takes the Zeiss engineer 3 hours to setup!

I'm really intrigued by the work that James Weiss has done. The videos on Journey to the Microcosmos are amazing.

What I really wish for, though, is a book that outlines how to do the live sample collection and maintenance that Weiss has perfected. I see little hints of it here and there, but so far I haven't seen a single source that pulls everything together.

So far I have found that learning to use a microscope, creating Rheinberg and oblique filters, etc. has been the easy part. The hard part is finding, and then sustaining, good samples of microscopic life to put under that microscope!

Any suggestions on books that focus on this area?

Maintaining fresh or salt-water aquaria with or without fish and macro plants is a well-covered topic.

Look for you tube ' Life In A Jar' for a starting point. There are hundreds of other videos on you tube other than that which can be helpful and educational.. Also, James Weiss puts out a lot of info on how he does his thing on 'Journey Through The Microcosm'.
