Stain storage.

#1 Post by Greg Howald » Thu Mar 03, 2022 11:25 pm

After I mix a batch of acridine orange, how should I store/preserve it. How long will it last?
Thanks, Greg

Google is your friend:

Store in refrigerator 2°C to 8°C and protect from light.

I would wrap its tube with aluminum foil to shield it from light.

Acridine orange is quite toxic to microbes. You will never find any living bacteria in a 1 % solution. The bigger problem is light but in a brown bottle the solution will remain usable für a long time.
