I just purchased a Ample scientific SmZ10, which im pretty sure is a clone, does anyone have any info on this particular model? I'm guessing it's the same as the likes of Wesco clones

Alas, this isn't a Nikon SMZ10 clone despite the name. It looks like a classic greenough but the styling isn't directly copying any name brand scope I am aware of, though it is probably just a less direct Olynpus lookalike. This actually isn't a model I've seen before that I remember, or at least not too often.

Initial impression is good, materials seem to be mostly metal, the quality if the optics is excellent, although the led lighting reflects a blue tint at certain angles on the field of view, something that is not seen with halogen light when I compared it. The zoom mechanism is crisp and clicks into place at each magnification, the bearings on the rail tower could use a bit of Nyogel for damping, which is weird because its new. Very impressed by the internal mechanism and the oversized gears being metal. The only thing out of place I found was a spelling error on the manual "caution" being spelled causion throughout the manual.

Interesting. The internals remind me more of a Meiji emz, which would match the styling on the knobs. Maybe a meijialike zoom mechaism with a more olympus like eye tube configuration.
