Hi Radazz,
beautiful instrument and great photo! The quality of the micro photo is completely on the same level as what is shown here from much more modern instruments - very astonishing.
The microscope design looks fairly modern. I have a Seibert microscope of the same age and it has a parallelogram guide for the tube, not the best solution and soon replaced by dovetail guides. What I don't understand is what keeps the tube from falling off the guide on your microscope - can you explain this?

Hi, Bob,
I’m not quite sure what you mean. The elevation track on the back of the tube locks into the track on the focus block.
It can only move up and down with the knob.
Jim

Addendum: I see what you mean. The piece between the focus block and the tube is attached to the block, and locks into the track on the back of the tube.
