Nikon CF-era infinity conversion?

#1 Post by blekenbleu » Sun Sep 25, 2022 3:27 pm

Ichthyophthirius taught that Nikon trinocular UW (also T and, seemingly, generic binocular) heads
have a negative lens at their bottom port to convert from finite to approximately infinity space around prisms.

Would removing that enable Optiphot/Labophot frames to use infinity objectives?

No, the focal length is wrong. You'd get a bit under a 0.5x magnification.
Pretty easy to adapt an inginity head on though.
