Help with Objective Turret Removal

#1 Post by LouiseScot » Sun Nov 08, 2020 1:43 pm

Hi
Anyone know how I might remove the complete objective turret assembly from my old Brunel? I think it's similar to a an older Omax or AmScope finite microscope:

There is one of these fittings with the slots in it but I can't move it and not sure if it would enable me to remove everything anyway. Any ideas? I'm sure someone must have disassembled one of these at some time! I'm trying to sort of cannibalise the thing (since I recently got a Swift 380T which is much better!).

Thanks for any help.

Oh well, in the end, I decided removing the turret wasn't going to enable me to do what I wanted anyway i.e. use everything else in situ for the focus rail microscope. Instead I removed the stage and condenser block. Hopefully, I'll be able to attach them to the rail and having a condenser would be be a big step forward in terms of proper illumination.
