Futher test with epi adator plus dslr !

#1 Post by Gasman » Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:19 pm

Hi guys
Connected my Nikon dslr and printed an adaptor to attach it to my home made epi set up which includes a x10 photo eyepiece inside the tube. Using Nikon DSLR with BackYardNikon software. Sorry again for side views not sure why, only happens on this site?. Sample is spme Erythritol

What I`m finding stange is that I seem to be getting much more resolution illuminating via the 5mm bright led at 1sec exposure as opposed to 1/20 sec main light.

same shot lit by led 1 sec exposure

Any ideas why the epi lit one should show more detail please?
thanks

Realised after I posted that the epi shot is showing the top of the slide ie all the opaque stuff and the other shot the transparent details !!.🤔

It looks like there might be some of the epi light coming back up the through condenser ???
I guess something like a coin bit of carboard might be a check of that.
Not that they are bad images :-)
