I am worried that if I accidentally left the microscope light on I'd burn the house down!
Also you put a plastic cover over the scope when done. Plastic burns!
Anyone else ever have these thoughts or am I a worry wort? These lights get so hot. I been yanking the plug for my microscope light after I use it (even though I turn it off).
I could just use the one computer surge protector as a second "safety switch." Peace of mind comes from a "second switch" being turned off.

Re: Fire
It is better to be safe than sorry... I am all for unplugging everything when I am finished.... The almost total lack of heat generation is one of the wonderful things I like about LED's.... I use LED's whenever practical... There is always a way to convert to LED... Some conditions are just a little more trouble than others...

Yep. I always turn everything off then unplug it when finished for the session.
