Hypotrich conjugation? Binary Fission?

#1 Post by Shivs » Mon Mar 29, 2021 11:26 pm

Hi Guys,
I found these two hypotrich attached, unfortunately I didnt see anything before, and I couldnt see what would have happened as my slide dried out. They eventually separate, and then looking at one of them it appears it has two macronuclei ?

Any idea what's going on here?

Binary fission. :) Both cells (the "proter", in front, and the "opisthe" at the back) have 2 macronuclear nodules, a very common arrangement in hypotrichs.
