Fungus on Pear?

#1 Post by Javier » Thu Apr 01, 2021 10:00 pm

Hi,

Today a put some pulp from a rotten pear under the microscope. Are these fungus spores? I have seen them in the past on other rotten samples.

TIA for your help.

Spores are very tiny. Just a few microns across. You may be seeing some fruiting bodies but not spores. If the fungus was black, it might be what is commonly called rhizopus rot by pomologists.
