I'm kind of new to this, but I'm a bit stumped.

That's the closest I can find in my book.

It is a testate amoebe I think, but I am not sure if it is Arcella.

Sometimes quite a lot of detail is needed for an ID

Are you familiar with Ferry's website Microworld?

It's an arcellinid, but not Arcella. The aperture is ruffled and it has a fairly lumpy ovoid agglutinate shell (incorporating "found materials"). The viewing angle isn't good, but it looks like Netzelia tuberculata (previously known as Difflugia tuberculata).

Thanks guys, awesome, my first amoeba! Always wanted to find one! Stoked!!

And thanks for the website recommendation. Has anyone combined all these individual microbe identification websites into one master list? Usually they specialise in a single kind of micronial life.
