Proposed: Paramecium bursaria
symbiont: green alga Chlorella

When I change FOV in Z direction on main specimen (inactive/dead), you can see macronucleus and/or food vacuoles.
In the living specimens, as they rotate, you can see oral grooves.

Here you can see chloroplasts @ 400x TM. There appears to be a single ciliary girdle.

Do you think this is my proposed specimen or something else?

Hi linuxusr,
guess it is not P. bursaria. Shape is different and think there are no symbiotic algae, at least I cannot spot them.
P. bursaria should really be a green fellow, like my avatar :-)

It is definitely not Paramecium bursaria. As ImperatorRex notes, it has no zoochlorellae and lacks features that would put it in genus Paramecium (trichocysts, dual contractile vacuoles, caudal tuft, buccal cavity at mid-body). Its mouth is lateral and very near the anterior. It is probably a species of the scuticociliate Dexiotricha, but we don't see enough detail to be sure. Certain hymenostomes (e.g. Dexiostoma) can have a similar appearance.
