Hello fellow microlifers,
Can I get some help identifying this creature I found in a lake, is it a species of Rotifera? It moves fast and is living in a jar of bacteria(from decomposing organic matter) infested algea. The jar had Paramecium before but nowhere to be found now, maybe these ones fed on them, not sure.
Sample from: Fresh water lake with algae in tropical climate. Dead worm introduced and a lot of bacteria came from that.
Movement: Using 'toes' to position.
Body: Has Cilia near mouth

Re: Identification help
It is indeed a rotifer. In particular this one is a Mytilina...the toes on a short foot, posterior spines, and especially the dorsal furrow shown well in the third clip are all characteristic.
Re: Identification help
