Hi,richbart. Did you encounter this amoeboid form amongst filamentous algae...or was it water sample without noticable green algae? So many granules in your specimen..and some appear redish color to my eyes.

So I'd guess it is a species of Vampyrella. Just an opinion. thanx for posting this. charlie g

I have a tank with algae in it. I find this filose amoeba group to be rather confusing. It also looks like nuclearia, a creature that lives in a foggy area between animals and fungi. Fascinating

What you may think look like ciliates appears to actually be fungal like growth. Interest specimen. Greg
