I was wondering if there is anything like the plant identification apps available for microbes/microscopy images?
If not, would you be interested in such a thing?
As posted elsewhere in the forum, I'm interested in starting this hobby and machine learning is already a hobby of mine, so would be nice to combine the two
Automatic recognition
Re: Automatic recognition
Automated analysis and pattern recognition of images of microscopic objects, e. g. animal cell cultures, has been a research and development subject within the academy for decades.
Diatoms for example are potential classical examples for such analysis.
Years ago I was looking for such software (for diatoms) but found none.
There is one (at least) now, named "Sherpa". It was developed by M. Kloster as part of a Thesis in Duisburg, Germany.
Would be nice to know its performance within the framework of hobby use.
