Bubble Behavior

#1 Post by AuntieAunty » Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:16 pm

Found a cute little guy while streaming today that chat named "Bloopert" and he was being very cute around this bubble...but I couldn't quite figure out what he was. He didn't look like the rotifers I've seen in the past, so I wasn't sure if this was indeed a rotifer or some other creature. This was found in moss water. Still very new and struggling to figure out all the little dudes. Thanks for you help!

The organism is a rotifer and appares to be notommata groenlandia from the organ positioning and shape. I have found them before in shallow swamps living with cyanobacteria and algae in a floating green mass of cyanobacteria.
