I'm not sure if these are cilliates or dinoflagellates. They seem to conjugate( i have videos of this event)
Looked through one of my guides but couldn't find anything close. They are from a fresh water source and are quite small compared to say paramecia.

Any idea what they could be or related too? Thanks!

Re: ID help
It is a species of Cryptomonas...a non-photosynthetic one, of the kind previously called Chilomonas. Cryptists are neither ciliates, nor dinoflagellates, but a very deep-branching group, likely related to (or branching within) the superkingdom Archaeplastida, a group that includes red algae, green algae and land plants.
