ID wanted if possible

#1 Post by 75RR » Thu Dec 04, 2014 9:57 pm

This was taken with a 25x objective, it is about 110µm in size, 9 image stack, fresh water, tropics (South America)
Not sure if it is something or just a part of something. Interesting either way.

Know what you mean. Has me flummoxed.

Did remind me a bit of Baleen, could it be a filter feeder system sans owner?

Baleen: you are right I think :) . Were you using a telescope instead of a microscope? Or, perhaps you were looking through the wrong end of your microscope :) .

Hi 75RR,
This could be anything, but I would suggest possibly a fragment of insect exoskeleton.
Peter.

I`ll take that, does seem to be a part rather than a whole. Thanks.
