I bought a second hand microscope from this obscure brand Biosystems.
This small but relatively heavy plastic thing, consisting of two parts that can be screwed, was in the box as well. I have no idea what it is supposed to be used for. It has tiny holes at even distance on the side. But they are not connected.
It could of course be totally unrelated to the microscope, but was just thrown in by the previous owner who was as clueless as I am.

The radial holes may be for a 'tommy bar' ... But that doesn't help explain what the asembly is used for.
