How many reticles needed?

#1 Post by Microworld Steve » Tue Mar 30, 2021 8:04 am

When using a binocular microscope, I assume you only use one eyepiece with a reticle.
If I can't see it with my microscope, it ain't worth looking at. :D

Yes, only one is used.

I use one (calibrated with a stage micrometer) to measure length and width with but as I find it distracting I have it placed in an additional (i.e. a third) eyepiece.
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Hey there 75RR. Thank you for your reply. I figured that's what it would be, just one is needed. I ordered an eyepiece with a reticle already in it from AmScope. It looks like the exact same eyepieces that's on my Omano. So if I need to measure something all I have to do is remove one of the eyepieces and slide that on in. I should know in a few days because it has already been shipped.
