Need help to rectify this issue with imaging

#1 Post by shawn perez » Fri Jun 25, 2021 6:11 pm

Hey guys, I have recently purchased a mount for my canon 700d to attach it to the microscope,
This is the mount:
https://www.amazon.in/Phenovo-Microscop ... 294&sr=8-1

It all fits well, but the image has a bright light spot in between when seeing through the camera. Can anyone help me to identify what might be the issue here?
Attaching below few photos for reference,

It looks like a problem with the condenser set-up
Does your microscope have Köhler illumination, and if so, do you know how to adjust it ?

Happy to help if you need assistance

You can see how shiny the inside of the barrel is even in the product photo. You probably have flare issues from that.

Hey Michael, No it doesn't have Köhler illumination, it's just the normal one. Also when looked through the eyes piece it looks perfectly fine but when I remove the eyepiece to mount the camera I see this.

You mean the product is faulty? If No what can I do to reduce the flare?

Can you show us your microscope? Depending on the type this might not be the best method of camera adatation, even with this hot spot problem solved.

Is light entering from the eyepiece?

The light source is at the bottom, the LED mount instead of a mirror

Not so much faulty as inadequately designed. If you get a roll of flocking paper you can line the inside of it and rempve the reflections causing your problem.

Hello MicroBob, Sorry was occupied with lectures here's a picture of the microscope, it also has a led mount that goes instead of the mirror.

The LED looks like this:

I agree with Scarodactyl. The inside of the optical tube may be unfinished aluminum. Even if it has been blacked with flat paint there can be a reflection point off of that surface when the light is at the right angle. It can show up as a bright spot. Flocking should help.

If a third vote for "inner tub" reflection will help, I will add that vote.

Back in the day we had considerable issues with the same issue and solved it with the flocking.

All the best to everyone,

The experts on flocking are usually telescope enthusiasts.
