American Optical DIC prisms?

#1 Post by PeteM » Mon Nov 08, 2021 12:41 am

Can someone (Phil? Wayne?) shed light on these prisms? Perhaps they were intended for use with AO reflected systems (3000 series industrial scopes?) or perhaps for an earlier version of their transmitted DIC setup (which later used a single sliding prism above the objectives)? Or??

Those are the series 10/20 prism sliders. I think they are the same for DIC and DICV. I also don't think there was a 100X slider.

Thanks, Phil. FWIW, I also have a sliding slider from AO that fits the same small nosepiece slot, along with a matching DIC condenser, that provides good images from 10x to 100x. While gray painted and apparently destined for the series 10/20 it also works fine with long barrel objectives.
