Link here the amateur microscope website http://www.funsci.it/.
Has a huge amount of content, of special interest are:
- A large number of simple experiments, activities and DIY suitable for school/didactics
- An archive of Repair reports for microscopes and objectives http://www.funsci.it/schede-tecniche.html
Mostly is written in Italian, but should be worth the translating effort since a lot of the content can't be found elsewhere.
The website authors were Sini and Carboni, mayor contributors to amateur microscopy in Italy, and they both died recently at old age.
With this website they got a bit of immortality tough!
Last week I was struggling with an old objective that had poor image quality; at close inspection, the cement in some lenses has separated.
Magically, the spirit of Sini appeared through its website, and told me: you should BAKE the objective in the oven! The heat will melt the cement and fix the delamination.
I followed this suggestion coming from afterlife and, believe or not, it worked.

Re: Microscope repair from Valhalla
Thanks for the links. As you say, well worth translating an article if it helps to solve a problem or two.
