The Internet Archive is a great source for old texts. It accepts uploads, too (last year, I added my scan of Kahl's indispensable 4-volume treatise on ciliates to the archive).
An even better source for old biological literature is the Biodiversity Heritage Library: http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/
The BHL is particularly good for retrieving articles from journals. The site allows you to preview individual pages from periodicals, and then select the portion you want to download. The software then extracts the article you want, and sends it to your email address in searchable .pdf form (saving you the trouble of downloading an entire volume and laboriously extracting a .pdf from it).
