Ran across this book, Safe Microscopic Techniques for Amateurs - Slide Mounting, by Walter Dioni. Lots of illustrations but unfortunately not in color. However, many recipes for mounting with alternatives to some of the so-called toxic chemicals. It's a small book and I think, worth the read.
