Better Microscopy, Volume III, Digital Photo-microscopy

#1 Post by Gordhandas » Wed Feb 22, 2023 9:39 pm

Whilst visiting a friend I noticed he had a copy of D Jacksons, 'Better Microscopy, Volume III, Digital Photo-microscopy' Book.

I know it was a print on demand book BUT it seems to have disappeared from LULU.

Anyone know what has happened to the book? Is it available as a PDF?

Thanks

Somewhat bewildered … I’ve found Mr Jackson‘s blogpost, offering free download of the ‘Compendium Edition’ but no obvious reference to a Volume III

Correction: There is a reference at 01-July-2018
Too many 'projects'

Thanks, MichaelG !
Here is the title of the downloadable PDF at the link from July 1, 2018

"BETTER MICROSCOPY

Selected Notes from:
Volume III
Digital Photo-Microscopy
Notes No. 10 - 13
Camera Coupling Methods, etc."

Other parts of the Blog seem to be interesting as well.

I have a friend who has a copy of the book and took a photo of the front cover to look it up.

I tried to upload it but failed. Will post it when I work out the size requirement for photos

Hi all, I give a 'shout out' to a 2010 low cost book: "Practical Digital Photomicrography for photography in the life sciences"/ Dr. Brian Matsumoto. Brian ( 1981 PhD in anatomy and cell biology, was Director of the Integrated Microscopy Facility in dept. of molecular, cellular, developmental biology, at U.Calif., Santa Barbara..served 1992-2009) ...Brian offers a clear foundation for all starters in microscopy, and photography right up to academic/ research worker digital photography applications.

Great for educators, hobby microscopists, professional microscopists. I hope I have not 'expanded this thread beyond it's topic'...hope for a good year 2023 for all, charlie g.

To be honest, I do not know how I found this link, but I just ordered this book from Lulu today (in the US). Hope I get it...

I make no promises, etc., but I hope someone finds this useful.

Cheers,
John

Thanks for this. Ordered the book and received it today. Looks like some good reading and it’s not available on his website, only volumes 1 and 2 there.

No problem. I was out of town last week, but it was waiting for me when I came back. There's a lot of practical knowledge on one place, so it's very useful for an amateur like me.
