Wanted: Zeiss Jamin-Lebedeff Components

#1 Post by Ciliatehunter » Fri Feb 04, 2022 8:28 pm

Hi,

I am looking for Zeiss J-L Interference Contrast objectives and / or condensers for use with the Photomicroscope / Universal Series. Serial numbers don't have to match.

Thank you!

To what degree does JL work without matched objective-condenser pairs?

From the former Zeiss reps/salesmen I have talked to, it sounds like using pieces with mismatched serial numbers has no significant impact on image quality, but I have no first hand experience to back that up!
Thanks!

There was a long discussion about that on the German microscopy forum, with the general consensus somewhat supporting your idea. Of course one would need to do a bit of tinkering with the objectives to match the beam splitter/combiner azimuth.

JL kits are among the most rare of the Zeiss items, strangely last year I saw at least 5-6 kits sold. Where are you based?
